Curated by Vera Ingrid Grant The Cooper Gallery presents the evocative work of internationally acclaimed photography and video installation artist Carrie Mae Weems, recipient of the 2013 MacArthur “Genius” grant and the 2015 W.E.B. Du Bois Medal. The exhibition highlights her storytelling tableaux that question our social constructs of power, race, and space and pose a more multi-dimensional concept of humanity.

The Brookline Council on Aging invites you to attend our 32nd Annual Holiday Craft Fair on Friday, November 4th from 10am to 3pm and Saturday, November 5th from 10am to 1pm at the Brookline Senior Center (93 Winchester Street, Brookline, MA).  Proceeds will benefit the programs and services of the Brookline Senior Center, with a special donation to Hearth, Inc.  Handmade crafts, holiday gift items, baked goods, raffles, children's items, and white elephant items will be for sale.  You will be sure to find something for everyone on your list at the Fair!  Admission is FREE and the Senior Center is handicapped accessible.

During her time, Isabella Stewart Gardner engaged in lively, international social circles that helped to shape her worldly views.  This November, the Gardner Museum will partner with the Epicenter Community for an evening of hands-on-art making and illuminating conversations.  Visitors will connect with new friends, expanding their social circles and perspectives.

The monthly Third Thursday events at the Museum - named The Boston Calendar’s “Best Museum/Gallery Event” - are a relaxing mix of artful activities, drinks, and music with a different theme each month. Café G will be open for snacks, dinner and drinks.  There will also be a cash bar around the Courtyard.
