Neighborhood 5K Fundraiser

Join Jamaica Plain’s Hyde Square Task Force on Saturday, June 6 for our annual Neighborhood 5K Fundraiser! Participants of all levels and experience are encouraged to take part in this fun and welcoming event created to promote healthy living and youth-led community development. Runners will be introduced to Boston’s Latin Quarter in Jamaica Plain through one of three routes, all designed to showcase landmarks where HSTF youth have successfully implemented neighborhood-improvement projects.

All participants are invited to our Finish Line Festival where they will receive a tshirt, goody bag, food, and live entertainment from HSTF youth.

When: June 6, 2015. Registration 7:30am, starts at 9:00am

Jazz Composers Alliance Orchestra

Jazz Composers Alliance Orchestra with special guest Strings Theory Trio; presented by the Jazz Composers Alliance (JCA). Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the Jazz Composer Alliance (JCA) has kept true to its roots by providing an active public forum for the presentation of new jazz works and offering a concert series that includes a visiting composers component. For spring 2015, JCA has invited the experimental Strings Theory Trio (STT), with added violist David Wallace, to join their Orchestra on the bill. This is the first time in the history of the JCA that strings will be an integral part of the Orchestra’s program.

Wellesley Players present My Fair Lady

The story, the songs, the characters -- you know and love them. A Broadway hit when it debuted in 1956, this fan-favorite musical has gone on to win Tony Awards, launch careers and be adapted into the Oscar-winning beloved film. The Wellesley Players brings together an award-winning team to present this beautiful musical in a manner that speaks to today’s audiences.
